Not an especially rare species of bird, but this Common Moorhen skull is fantastically cleaned with it's preserved beak sheaths and head casque. The Fleshy beak isn't made of the same type of keratin as other birds and therefore normally breaks down during the cleaning of the skull, but this one has it fully preserved with full natural colour.
Skull is complete as always, and with sclerotic rings
